Understanding Pathways to Sanctification

It is important to uncover the worth of redemption because it is the most valuable asset of man. It holds amazing blessings on earth and secures eternity in grand style. Understand that when you were a son of man, you possessed human nature, but at salvation, you became a son of God, and you possess divine nature. That nature is against sin, sickness and depression. You carry a new nature, and the seal is dominion over what tampers with the old nature. This revelation makes sanctification natural and simple, and we are sanctified to be glorified. However, the foundation of that glorification is sanctification. As it is written: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work (2 Timothy 2:19-21; Romans 8:29-30). We are redeemed by the Blood of Jesus, the costliest treasure under heaven, and that Blood knew no sin. So, redemption entitles us to glorification based on our commitment to sanctification.

Please know that heaven is real, and hell is real! Jesus said: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:1-3; see also Matthew 25:41; Revelation 21:8). Sanctification is a nonnegotiable requirement for you to make heaven. Hell is not made for man, and that is why Jesus came to save you from sin so you can become a candidate for heaven (Matthew 1:21; John 3:16). If you truly want to make heaven, the conditions are within your reach. God is a loving Father, and He could not have given you conditions that cannot be met (1 John 5:3). Therefore, you cannot be waiting, expecting that God will save you. You must repent and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, then you are saved.

What are some pathways to sanctification?

  • Engage the Power of the Blood for your rescue. The Blood is your ultimate weapon in spiritual warfare; it is your stronghold in battle. As it is written: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony… (Revelation 12:11). The battle against sin is the battle against your place in heaven. So, consciously engage the Blood of Jesus now against every form of weakness (Hebrews 9:14; Zechariah 9:11-12).
  • Commitment to fellowship with the brethren. Fellowship is not a get-together; it is a platform for interacting with God in the midst of His people (John 15:3; Hebrews 3:13, 12:22-24). Your appearance in service keeps you moving forward in your walk with God (Psalm 84:7). So, don’t toy with fellowship.
  • Engage the name of Jesus in battle against sin. That name answers in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth. So, no matter where the gang up of hell is coming from, the name has the power to dismantle it (Philippians 2:9-11; Proverbs 18:10). God’s ultimate authority resides in the name of Jesus. The name carries the anointing of Christ. When you call on the name of Christ, the anointing in the name takes over, and whatever cannot resist the anointing cannot resist you.

Furthermore, ungodliness blocks access to supernatural breakthroughs. Light triggers breakthroughs, and the secrets of God are only accessible to those who fear God, and that is the foundation of breakthroughs (Psalm 25:14; Proverbs 1:23; Isaiah 60:1-3). It blocks access to divine wisdom. As it is written: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding (Proverbs 9:10; see also Daniel 1:8, Genesis 42:18). Wisdom enthroned giants in the Scripture, so it will enthrone the believer today. However, you must stay off whatever defiles, and God will unveil to you the wisdom that will enthrone you. It also stirs shame and reproach. As it is written: Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34). It also blocks access to eternity. No activity in the kingdom is a substitute. The Word says: Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matthew 7:22-23). You will not hear that from God in Jesus’ name! Therefore, for the sake of eternity, commit to a life of sanctification.
