Financial fortune is not a happenstance but an inheritance. As it is written: For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9; see also Revelation 5:12). We live in a kingdom that operates on mysteries, which are hidden secrets from the pages of the Scripture. Jesus said: … Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables (Mark 4:11). Those who are members of God’s family have access to the mysteries of the kingdom (Ephesians 3:8-11). Please understand that knowledge is in compartments. You can be a professor of Geography and know nothing about Pharmacy. In the same vein, many know about prayer, and they pray; others know about healing and enforce it through their faith, but very few know about financial fortune, so they continue to struggle in that area (Matthew 11:28-29; 1 Corinthians 8:2).
There are terms of financial fortune, and until we are acquainted with them, we will continue to struggle with financial hardship. The Word says: Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver (Job 22:21-25). So, there is a law that launches men into a world of financial fortune, and there are words that guide the operation of that law to help us maximise the returns. You cannot do anything against the law of gravity without generating a counter-law.
Financial fortune is a covenant, not a promise, and the covenant of seed time and harvest is the gateway to the same. Seed sowing is the mystery behind the supernatural harvest of blessings. You may think that does not mean financial seed, but here is what the Bible says: But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work (2 Corinthians 9:6-8; see also Philippians 4:15-19). Therefore, seed time and harvest are equal to giving and receiving. Please recognise that your seed is not a financial donation to help God, the church or the ministry. Your seed is a spiritual transaction that provokes the release of divine favour on your life (Psalm 50:12; Haggai 2:8-9; Luke 22:35; Malachi 3:10; 1 Kings 3:3; Hebrews 7:8). Don’t pose as a helper of God; that is a risk! See your seed sown as a spiritual transaction with heaven.
Why does God bless?
- To have us enjoy a good living. As it is written: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 1:2; John 10:10).
- To establish His covenant of blessings. God empowers His people for wealth based on the covenant (Deuteronomy 8:18).
- To promote His kingdom on earth. We are not blessed to be consumers but to be a blessing (Haggai 1:5-14; Zechariah 1:17; Matthew 24:14).
- To be a blessing to humanity at large. You may have your priority, but you can be a blessing to mankind around you (Galatians 6:10; Matthew 25:31-40).
How does God bless?
- God’s blessings are principally channeled through the works of our hands. Only working hands are entitled to blessings (Psalm 1:3; Deuteronomy 28:12; Job 1:9-10).
- Through divine direction. God never leads backwards; He leads forward (Psalm 23:6; Isaiah 48:21).
- Through divine favour (Exodus 3:12, 36).
- Through parental blessings. There is a blessing in the heart of your parents for you; don’t miss it (Genesis 27:4).
- Through priestly blessings. When you hear prophetic words proclaimed in church, receive them (Numbers 6:23; Genesis 14:16-22; Luke 16:23).
It is important to note that God’s blessings come little by little (Deuteronomy 7:22; Mark 4:24-28; Galatians 6:9). Therefore, enjoy every phase of your life to access the next. Today, people are so much in a hurry, but it is when you are due that God will release His blessings upon you.
