It is important to know that the Word of God (Bible) is the eternal Book of success. As it is written: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8). It is the alternative knowledge that empowers destiny for sustainable success. Success does not fall from the sky; it is attracted. It is a covenant, and until our part is played, God is not committed to deliver. For instance, the Bible says: The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat (Proverbs 13:4; see also Proverbs 10:4). The lazy man is not a candidate for success in the kingdom. Doing nothing in the name of faith is failure. No indisciplined person can ever be distinguished in the race of life because discipline is the tap-root of distinction. As it is written: …and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (Psalm 1:3). Success answers to doers, not wishers or waiters.
To understand the demand for success, let us examine the factor of divine direction. The Word says: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5-6; Exodus 13:17). Our understanding is limited; no one has access to what tomorrow holds except the One who created tomorrow. God never leads backwards; He always leads forward. So, don’t be afraid of His leading; you may not like it, but it is the only way forward. The Word says: There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 16:25; see also Isaiah 48:21). Let God lead you, and you will not feel the heat of the day, as only goodness and mercy will be following you. When God leads, everything works for those who care to follow.
Misdirection can be most costly, if not destructive (Isaiah 30:1-3). Everything we would ever need is in God, not in a place. So, if you are in tune with God, you have secured a great future (Isaiah 42:22-25). It is never too late to be right; a wrong road can never lead to the right place. Prayer and fasting will not make any wrong right; it is a u-turn that will.
Five things happen when God leads:
- He goes before the led to clear off the barriers on their path. When God leads, and you follow, you subdue nations because God is there to level out the barriers (Isaiah 45:1-3).
- His presence makes the led unstoppable. His leading secures His presence that makes your going unstoppable (Luke 10:1, 17-19).
- He works with the led to accomplish the task. He works with the led with signs and wonders as proof of His presence (Mark 16:20).
- He works through the led. The led might look like an expert doing their thing, but it is God dictating, through them, mysteries that keep things working (Philippians 2:13). By following His leading, He works through them to deliver the task.
- He works for the led. As it is written: Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24; Psalm 118:23), and that is where the marvels are. When God leads, marvels happen because He works it.
Furthermore, to access divine guidance, you must be born again because He is only the Shepherd of His sheep (John 10:4; see also Psalm 23:1). So, don’t appropriate salvation; experience it. We access divine direction through prayer and fasting (Jeremiah 33:3; Isaiah 58:6,11; Ezra 8:21-23). When we engage in prayer and fasting, we access divine direction on demand. Also, God leads us through His Word. As it is written: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105; see also Psalm 12:6; 2 Timothy 3:16). His Word leads, and it is the surest guide. We also access divine guidance through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (John 16:13-14; Romans 8:14). We need the Holy Spirit to maximise our divine guidance right in Christ.
The good news is that God is committed to leading you if you are committed to following Him (Isaiah 48:17; Psalm 32:8). Therefore, be genuinely committed to following Him because He is genuinely committed to leading you.
