Many believers have overcelebrated medical expertise, which has robbed them of their faith and turned them into victims of negative medical verdicts without knowing. It is important to understand that most health issues, as outlined in the Scripture, are the raw oppressions of the devil (Matthew 10:1; Luke 9:1; Mark 6:7). Demonic oppression has no medical solution. While Jesus was here, the Bible says: How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil… (Acts 10:38). That is the reason we must pay attention to the sound of faith, which will keep us on top of these demonic strongholds. Jesus is the only answer to demonic oppressions, and it takes our faith to see that come to pass.
Healing is delivered according to an individual’s faith. As it is written: And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you (Matthew 9:27-29). That makes faith a non-negotiable requirement for receiving divine healing. When faith comes alive on any truth of the Scripture, God’s integrity is committed to deliver. As it is written: And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord (Luke 1:45; see also Isaiah 34:16). The Bible is God’s Word in print, so faith is the only way to tap into the healing virtue of Christ. Following the example of the woman with the issue of blood, others came with faith to touch Christ, and they were made perfectly whole (Matthew 9:20-23, 14:36).
The question then is: faith in what?
- In God as our Jehovah Rapha, the One who heals us. The Word says: …for I am the Lord that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26; see also Acts 10:38).
- In our healing inheritance in Christ. We have an inheritance of health and wholeness in Christ, which is a state of no sickness and pain. As it is written: …by whose stripes ye were healed (1 Peter 2:24). For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (1 Corinthians 6:20; John 11:40). So, our healing glorifies God.
- In healing, as the will of God for His children. God’s will for us is to be in health, and when we ask according to His will, He hears us. The Word says: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 1:2; 1 John 5:14-15).
- In healing, as a reward for serving God and the interests of His kingdom. Taking sickness away from our bodies is part of our reward for serving God. The Word says: And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil (Exodus 23:25-26; see also John 15:2; Matthew 9:38).
- In the one sent to minister healing to us. No matter who prays for you, you will need your faith to receive your healing. Even though Jesus ministered to them in Nazareth, they could not receive their healing, and He marvelled at their unbelief (Mark 6:5-6; 2 Chronicles 20:20; Matthew 10:41).
- In the name of Jesus Christ. Whatever has a name bows to the name of Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:10). So, when you call on the name of Jesus, demon forces bow. Also, the anointing of the carrier of that name is in it. A note from the President will give you access to any office in their domain. Jesus is the King of all the earth (Revelation 19:16); His name answers everywhere (SOS 1:3; Acts 3:6, 16). When you call on the name of Jesus, the anointing on the name goes into action.
- In the mercy of God. God’s mercy is the custodian of wonders without number (Psalm 136:1-4; Luke 18:35-43; Isaiah 49:15, 24). When under attack or when you come to your wit’s end, God’s mercy will answer for you.
Furthermore, it is not just prayer that heals, but the prayer of faith (James 5:15, 1:6; Mark 11:24). It is not just a cry that heals, but a cry of faith. A cry of faith will always arrest God’s attention to intervene on your behalf. Also, it is not quoting the scriptures that heals, but faith in the quoted scriptures (Hebrews 4:2). However, faith requires a good conscience to deliver. As it is written: Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck (1 Timothy 1:19, 3:9). So, are you trusting God or tempting God with that doctor’s report? Are you seeking another god for your healing? Stop tempting God, trust Him (Matthew 4:7; Psalm 125:1-3, 62:5, 35:4; Matthew 6:22)!
While faith is domiciled in the heart, it requires our tongues to manifest it. The Word says: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10; see also Mark 11:20-23). As children of God, we have been given a mouth to silence the wicked (Luke 21:15; Psalm 81:10). So, open your mouth wide, give expression to your faith, and God will turn His hand against your adversaries (Matthew 16:19; Isaiah 54:17). Don’t just speak; speak boldly in the Lord because it takes boldness to provoke signs and wonders (Acts 14:3).
