It is vital to understand that our healing was settled at the cross, but we can only be healed through our faith. When Jesus cried on the cross, it is finished, it simply meant mission accomplished. He came to save us from our sins and the consequences of the same, so we may have life and have it abundantly (John 19:30; Matthew 1:21; John 10:10). He went to the cross to avert the curses on humanity so we can come under the blessing, as it was in the beginning. Therefore, we are no longer under the curse but under the blessing (Galatians 3:13-14), and blessings and curses cannot coexist; it is like darkness and light. Please note that it is not just faith that heals but violent faith. There is a contention over your body, and even though Christ has paid the price, you must enforce the realisation of the price through your violent faith (Isaiah 38:1-10; Mark 10:46-52).
Concerning the woman with the issue of blood, which connotes weakness, she went through the crowd until she got to where Christ was and touched the hem of His garment, and Jesus said: … Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace (Luke 8:46-8; Mark 2:1-5). Her violent faith ceased the flow of blood. So, engage your violent faith to secure your healing.
The question then is, what is faith?
- Faith can be defined as a living force, drawn from the Living Word to produce living proofs. Faith has its source in the Living Word, so it has the capacity to produce living proofs. The Bible says: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17; 1 Peter 1:23; Luke 8:40-48). Real Bible faith produces living proofs—proofs that can be seen, touched and handled.
- Faith is taking responsibility in the light of the Scripture to have your desire delivered. When you findwhat the Word says to do in a particular area of your life, and you engage with it, your desires come true like a dream of the night (John 9:1-7).
Therefore, understanding how powerful faith is will encourage your willingness to develop your faith. Among others, it is important to know that faith has the capacity to quench all the fiery darts of the devil, which includes that wicked arrow shot at you. As it is written: Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked (Ephesians 6:16). The shield of faith connotes strong faith. Weak faith considers the pros, cons and circumstances, but strong faith does not consider anything but the truth of God’s Word. Those three Hebrew boys were thrown into the fiery furnace, but the fire never impacted them because they trusted in their God (Daniel 3:16-28). Their enemies planned to roast them, but God came in to raise them. Everything planned to roast you will lead to your rise!
That is why growing your faith is a must, or you will sell off your glorious destiny without knowing. Please note that nothing of value is ever free. Faith has so much to offer, but it comes at a cost.
The costs of growing our faith include:
- Prayer and fasting. Bible faith thrives on revelation, so we pray and fast forthe outbreak of light. As it is written: Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rearward (Isaiah 58:8). We pray and fast to break the blindfolding force of hell against our access to the deep things of God, which is the secret of the strength of our faith.
- Keeping your hope alive. When hope is dead, faith becomes impotent. It is active faith with active hope that delivers. Hope is like the wife of faith; it takes the two of them mating together for a miracle to be born. So, don’t let go of your hope because it will render your faith impotent. Don’t call your case closed when God did not call it closed. The Bible says: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1; see also Ecclesiastes 9:4). Faith gives substance to hope to deliver a miracle. When hope is out of place, there is nowhere faith can deposit substance.
