Unlocking the Supernatural

It is important to note that the supernatural answers to the Word, not our feelings or emotions. As it is written:  And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs (Exodus 4:17). We need the Rod to unlock the supernatural, and that Rod is Jesus, the Living Word (Isaiah 11:1; John 1:1-5). Also, the supernatural is triggered by faith in the Word (Luke 8:45-48; Mark 10:46-52; Hebrews 11:33-34). So, when you take the Rod from the Word in any area of concern, you engage with it to determine the happenings (1 John 1:1-2). Therefore, only what you see from the Word becomes yours (Genesis 13:14-15; Jeremiah 1:11-12).

However, operating in the supernatural begins with knowing who you are because it determines what you can dare, and the only way to know who you are is through the mirror of the Scripture (James 1:22-25; Isaiah 29:11).  For instance, through the ministry of Smith Wigglesworth, I found out I had been raised together with Christ and made to sit together with Him in heavenly places through the mystery of redemption, and that placed me far above all principalities and powers (Ephesians 2:6, 1:21). With that, I could dare witches with absolute authority, and they bow. If you find it, you are in command!

Who are you in Christ?

  • By redemption, you are a Spirit being in human flesh. When God told Adam the day he ate of the forbidden fruit, he would die; it was not his physical body He meant (Genesis 2:17). After he ate of the tree, his spirit man died; his connectivity with God was broken. So, to be born again is the rebirth of that dead spirit through the mystery of redemption. As such, you are redeemed a spirit being in human flesh. Jesus said: That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit (John 3:6). Those who are not born again are human beings, and they are subjective to human limitations. Please don’t fake a new birth, it is not a tag or an emblem; it is a spiritual repositioning, connecting with the Saviour to redeem your soul.
  • By redemption, you are not just a sheep of His flock, but you are also redeemed as a lion to prevail in the battles of life. The Bible says: …Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed… (Revelation 5:5; John 20:21). You are guided, fed and nurtured as a sheep, but you prevail only as a lion (Proverbs 30:30). You cannot prevail in the battles of life as a sheep. So, let the lion in you come alive.

Please note that God’s Word is pregnant with wonders (Psalm 119:105). There are wondrous things in the Bible that would make a wonder of any individual. While every other book is made up of letters, the Bible is made up of the Spirit. As it is written: It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63).

Some things embedded in the Word that stir wonders in the lives of men:

  • The Word is creative. God’s Word can create and recreate; it creates solutions (Genesis 1:1-31; Matthew 8:13).
  • The Word is prophetic. As it is written: Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them (Isaiah 34:16; see also Isaiah 55:10-11; 2 Peter 1:19). It is time we come alive to the prophetic nature of the Word, and whatever God says in the Book applies to whosever believes (Luke 1:45).
  • The Word is the sword of the spirit that never returns defeated from battle. Every battle is against the forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12), and the Word is the light of life; it shines in darkness, and darkness cannot stand its way (John 1:1-5). So, when you come out with the sword of the Word in a battle against darkness, you cannot return defeated because when light breaks forth, darkness turns back (Matthew 4:4-11; Ephesians 6:17).
  • Healing power is domiciled in the Word. The Bible says: He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions (Psalm 107:20; Job 33:21-25; Luke 5:17). The power of restoration and rejuvenation is in the Scripture.
  • The Word is our most reliable GPS in the journey of life. The Scripture shows us what is required now and reveals what lies ahead (Psalm 119:105). When God leads the way, the journey is always marvellous (Psalm 23:1, 6).

Signs and wonders are raw confirmations of the scriptures. What you believe, God confirms into testimonies. So, to get at the right scripture, study, and when it is needed, the Holy Ghost will bring it to your remembrance (2 Timothy 2:15; John 14:26). The Holy Spirit is our access to the right Word (John 16:13-14). Through the Holy Spirit, we understand the things that are freely given to us. So, open up to His ministry.
